Sauze d’Oulx on Lonely Planet: among the best low cost ski resorts in Europe
After having elected Piedmont as the first region in the world to visit in 2019, Lonely Planet Italy puts Sauze d’Oulx among the best-priced ski resorts in Europe.
The official coronation took place at the beginning of 2019, when the famous Australian publishing house published its special ranking on the best low-cost ski resorts in Europe. And the ranking opens precisely with Sauze d’Oulx. Then come France, Spain, Germany and again Slovakia, Poland and Slovenia. In this article by Anita Isalska Sauze d’Oulx is the only Italian station and so the journalist motivates her choices: “We went down across the European continent to look for the snowy grail: large ski areas where a six-day pass in high season it can cost less than € 200. These eight winter wonders also offer satisfying meals and accommodation for the wallet, as well as a pinch of cultural intrigue for those important days of rest”.
In Sauze d’Oulx, in addition to the slopes of the Vialattea area, also like the charm of the old town with all its rooms. Mayor Mauro Meneguzzi was satisfied: “Being quoted by a tourist must as Lonely Planet is certainly a great honor. The fact that Sauze d’Oulx drives this special classification at the European level makes us even more pleased. This is a recognition for the whole Sauze system, which combines the slopes, the welcome, the landscape. It’s a nice advertisement, absolutely free, that we discovered without being contacted and therefore even more significant than this research done by Lonely Planet reviewers”.
